Phone Freedom Wellbeing Sessions
Hi, I'm Emi, a Screen Wellbeing Specialist. Perhaps you’ve never heard of one? Yep, we’re new. With a background in bahaviour change, I run online and in-person wellbeing workshops about Phone Freedom – what it is and why it’s important.
So in this 2025 landscape, does your wellbeing strategy have a screen / digital element?
Maybe I can help.
Did you know…
… businesses lose at least a work week a year,
to their employee’s phones?*
In 2024 – 40% of people were trying to reduce their time online, 27% didn’t think they’d be able to**
The world has changed, we need to, too
We talk a lot of things digital: algorithms, digital footprints, social media feeds, screen time... but not much about personal impact.
How has a life-lived-online affected our wellbeing, our health and safety?
What are the strategies we can use to respond?
It doesn't help that the problem is confusing, sometimes overwhelming and often personal and internal:
I'm on my phone too much.
But I can't / don't know how / don't want to stop.
The 'problem' is often something we're finding it hard to put our finger on. Hard to identify as it isn't visible or validated in our everyday lives.
We're missing solutions and a broader understanding and how technology moves us in small but important ways.
The stats show us:
-
We spend a lifetime average of 9 years on our phones
-
Screen time is linked to increased stress, anxiety, emotional dysregulation and sleep problems
-
Screen time has impacted our social habits - real connections and ability to live in the moment
